Q: Why did you choose to work at BSMW? What do you believe differentiates BSMW from other metal fabrication shops?
A: I picked BSMW because I was new to the area, and they had a history of being a fab shop since 1923. It gave me a feeling of long-term job security. I saw the quality of products and how clean the work environment was compared to other shops.
– Jerimiah Snyder, Fabricator, 7 Years of Service
A: At the time of my transition to BSMW, I was looking to advance my abilities by doing so through newer equipment, more advanced technology, and a different variety of parts from my previous employer. BSMW is different in that the shop tolerance is a lot tighter than what I was used to. The attention to quality is a few steps up from my background in finish and appearance.
– Randy Tauscher, Fabricator, 9 Years of Service
Q: What has kept you at BSMW? What do you like most about your job?
A: BSMW is home for me. I have made many amazing work relationships over the years. I love my work, the comradery, the facility itself, the fast-fill water station, and a special bonus, our fitness areas! I have been challenged, supported, and trusted throughout my years at BSMW. BSMW has provided me with endless opportunities to advance in my career and the confidence to succeed.
– Brianna Breitenfeldt, Finance Coordinator, 9 Years of Service
A: BSMW is a family-friendly place, and I like the people I work with.
– Jeremy Seefeldt, Tube Laser Operator, 5 Years of Service
Q: Describe the most rewarding project on which you’ve worked at BSMW:
A: The most rewarding project I have done at BSMW was a large aluminum frame that had to be within extremely tight tolerances for a laser measuring system. The customer came to look at it and told me it was the best one they have seen built.
– Jerimiah Snyder, Fabricator, 7 Years of Service
A: The most rewarding project would be my most recent project which was helping BSMW reach period goal. I worked with many members of BSMW to get products out the door in order to meet period goal. Outcome: We did it!
– Courtney Schwartz, Operations Analyst, 1.5 Years of Service
Q: What advice would you give new employees?
A: We are very fortunate to have employees who have been employed at BSMW for 30-40 years. Spend time with them and learn from them. They are a wealth of knowledge and are here to help you.
– Sarah Jasiak, Senior Buyer, 7 Years of Service
A: Positivity breeds positivity. At times, tensions can be at a peak and deadlines can be pressing, but this is life, and work is what you make of it. Often, all it takes is putting a smile on your face or giving a simple compliment to brighten someone’s spirits. (The doughnuts we see around here from time-to-time seem to help too!)
– Brianna Breitenfeldt, Finance Coordinator, 9 Years of Service
